Shehla Chowdhury
Shehla Chowdhury served as a Research Associate from July 2020 to June 2022, working on projects such as ELI’s Environmental Peacebuilding program and the Local Government Compliance Assistance Center. Prior to joining ELI, Shehla conducted research for the University of California, Berkeley’s Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management, focused on improving cooperation and equity between NGOs in the Global North and South working on building climate resiliency in Bangladesh. She is also the co-founder of the university’s first undergraduate environmental research publication, the Cal Perennial. Shehla grew up just outside of Chicago, Illinois and graduated with a B.A in Political Science and a B.S in Society and Environment from UC Berkeley.
