Tran Che
Tran Che is the Sustainability Director and Executive Human Rights Counsel at GE Vernova. In her role on the Corporate Sustainability team, she leads the company’s human rights program and strategic sustainability initiatives. Tran oversees sustainability and human rights policy and standards development, training, risk assessments, due diligence, reporting, and supports the ethical supply chain auditing program. She regularly presents to senior leadership on sustainability and human rights, including to the GE Vernova Board of Directors. She is also involved in initiatives around GHG emissions, product stewardship, circularity, biodiversity, and sustainable procurement. In recognition of her contributions to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, Tran was named a Sustainable Development Goal Pioneer Finalist by the UN Global Compact Network USA in 2020.
In addition to her role on the Sustainability team, Tran serves as an Officer on the GE Vernova Foundation, where she contributes to strategy and program assessment. She is also a Committee Member on the U.S. Department of State’s Responsible Business Conduct Advisory Committee and was honored as one of Philadelphia Business Journal’s 40 under 40 in 2022.
Previously, Tran served as the Global Human Rights Counsel at GE Company and held the position of Chief Compliance Officer for GE’s Onshore Wind, Offshore Wind, and Digital Services businesses. She also led a deal review team where she managed a global team focusing on anti-bribery and corruption, anti-money laundering, sanctions, and human rights risk assessments and compliance reviews. She also served as Commercial and Sourcing Compliance Counsel for four years. In 2018, Tran’s collaboration with the IT and sourcing teams in development of a GE supplier relationship management tool was recognized by the Sourcing Industry Group for Innovation in Governance and Compliance.
Tran is an active participant in the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion committee within GE Vernova’s legal department, having previously served on GE’s Executive Committee. She is also a committed member of the company’s Pro Bono organization. Tran holds a B.S. from Pennsylvania State University and a J.D. from Villanova University School of Law.
