Pursuant to Connecticut General Statutes 29-252, the State Building Inspector and the Codes and Standards Committee are responsible for adoption of a State Building Code based on a nationally recognized model building code. The Codes and Standards Committee approved the 2018 Connecticut State Building Code, which went into effect October 1, 2018. The Code incorporates an amended version of the 2015 International Residential Code, including an amended version of Appendix F, thereby requiring passive radon-resistant construction features in new homes.
