There were many important environmental regulatory and legislative developments at the federal level in 2023. Join the Environmental Law Institute and expert panelists to discuss some important highlights from the year – including the White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ)’s proposed rulemaking for Phase 2 of its revisions to NEPA rules, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)’s revised definition of “Waters of the United States” following the Sackett decision and new draft guidance interpreting Maui, EPA’s proposed regulation on PFAS in drinking water and final PFAS reporting rule, Congressional NEPA reform through the Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2023, and more.

After speakers highlight 2023 updates, they will turn to the new year and discuss areas of environmental law in which they expect to see major changes in 2024. How will environmental reviews under NEPA be impacted by CEQ’s rulemaking? What changes are expected in PFAS regulation? How do environmental justice considerations come into play, and how will environmental justice continue to be prioritized throughout 2024? Our experts will discuss these questions and many more.
