Staying on top of the legal and policy developments in the climate change arena is no small task. As a special service to our members, the Environmental Law Institute provides a series of monthly conference calls with national experts on climate law and policy to keep you up to date and to answer your questions.

  • High-level summaries of the CPP suite of rules and the natural gas sector methane rules--next steps
  • State responses to the release of final CPP
  • Washington Gov. Inslee ordered state regulators to use existing state law to promulgate rules capping carbon
  • California will partner with the Netherlands and Quebec to promote low emission vehicles through the International Zero-Emission Vehicle Alliance
  • President Obama announced new assistance to Alaskan communities to help cope with high energy costs and the impacts of climate change
  • Credit rating agency Moody's sent questionnaires to local governments asking about risks from sea-level rise and flooding, as well as adaptation/response plant
  • Wyoming federal court decision approving NEPA review of coal leases
  • The several lawsuits seeking to review the CPP
  • DC Circuit denial of requests to rehear GHG regulation rulings and fuel standards
  • Dismissal of laws in DC District Court of federal coal leasing and social cost of carbon
  • New lawsuit asserting federal constitutinal requirement to protect against climate change
  • New filings alleging that coal companies breached fiduciary duties
