Building on the results of the April 2024 Inception Workshop and aligned with the envisioned inception and development process, the Women in Water Diplomacy Network in the South Caucasus (WWDN SC) convened a water diplomacy workshop from October 20-22, 2024 in Telavi, Georgia. The workshop was organized by the Environmental Law Institute (ELI) and USAID South Caucasus Regional Water Management Program (SCRWM) in collaboration with global experts Dr. Aaron Wolf, co-Director of the Program in Water Conflict Management and Transformation at Oregon State University, and Dr. Róisín Burke, Assistant Professor of Public International Law at Utrecht University. This first WWDN South Caucasus water diplomacy workshop aimed to bring together an estimated 30 women water and peace experts from Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia. The group included both formal and informal water diplomats inclusive of both those who participated in the April Inception Workshop as well as stakeholders joining a Women in Water Diplomacy Network engagement for the first time.
