Summary
On July 15, 1996, 17 national, regional, and local public interest organizations brought a citizens suit against the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in U.S. District Court for the District of Alaska challenging the Corps' issuance of a destructive new general permit under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act: the Nationwide Permit for Single-Family Housing (NWP 29).
