An Ecosystem Service-Based Watershed Approach to Wetland Conservation in the Great Lakes Basin

The Duck-Pensaukee watershed approach pilot project in Wisconsin brought together multiple stakeholders to develop watershed profiles that assess watershed needs using both technical and nontechnical approaches. The process afforded a deeper understanding of managing divergent goals, where the use of wetland functions and ecosystem services guided opportunities for stakeholders to work together to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
