Estimating the Costs of Restoration

Wetlands restoration is an important part of any strategy to improve the quality and quantity of wetlands resources in this country. And yet, inaccuracies in frequently quoted cost estimates for wetland restoration inhibit the development of economically sound regulatory strategies for wetlands protection and management. Determining effective regulatory strategies for controlling wetland loss and making the best use of public funds for wetlands restoration both require a basic understanding of restoration costs.
