Illinois Initiates Wetlands Program

Old beliefs and personal prejudices are hard to change, particularly when an individual’s or industry’s way of life is perceived to be threatened. Wetlands protection—as viewed by Illinoisans—engenders strong feelings not only by those who support pro9tection measures, but also by those who oppose them. Herein lies both the opportunity and the potential pitfalls in developing a comprehensive wetlands program fro Illinois.
