Living Shorelines Regional General Permit—Alternative Shoreline Protection

Living shorelines provide an ecological alternative to traditional hard shoreline structures that often lead to ongoing degradation. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District has developed a Regional General Permit to streamline the process for living shorelines projects. The author describes the process in developing the permit and its applicability for a wide range of undertakings.
