Maryland-USDA Program First to Enhance the CRP

In October of this year, Maryland became the first tate to receive funding approval under the U.S. Department of Agriculture's new Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP). The CREP makes Maryland a national model for federal-state cooperation that other states may soon follow; Illinois and Minnesota have already submitted proposals to USDA for similar programs.
