Nature in the Hands of Accountants

Drring the last three years, the federal government's financial stake in our nation's real estate has soared. The collapse of the savings and loan industry has left the federal government holding the bag on tens of thousands of pieces of property, of which a few hundred contain wetlands. Unfortunately, the governmental entities entrusted with the Savings and Loan bailout would not know a tidal poop from a mill tailing pond, and they have little apparent interest in learning.
