Oregon's Estuarine Mitigation Policy

The Oregon Coastal Zone Management Program requires mitigation for all estuarine intertidal fill and removal actions by creation, restoration, or enhancement of another area to maintain biological and physical processes of the estuarine system. This mitigation policy was initially implemented through the Oregon Land Conservation and Development Commission’s (LCDC’s) statewide planning requirements and conforming local comprehensive plans.
