Restoring Alaska's Wetlands

Sixty-two percent of the nation's remaining wetlands acreage is in Alaska. The state's climate and remoteness have long protected its wetlands base, with losses only a fraction of those of the lower 48 states, but increasing oil and gas exploration have affected or threaten to affect more and more of the state's Arctic-tundra wetlands.
