A Status Report on the Nation's Floodplain Management Activity

The interagency task force on floodplain management recently released a near 500-page Status Report on the Nation's Floodplain Management Activity. The task force, comprised of the Departments of Agriculture, Army, Commerce, Energy, Housing and Urban Development, Interior, and Transportation, the Environmnetal Protection Agency (EPA), the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and the Tennessee Valley Authority, plans to use this Report as the foundation of its new recommendations to Congress for A Unified National Program for Floodplain Management to be released in the early 1990s.
