Towards a Wetlands Protection Strategy for Ontario

Volume 9, Issue 4, Page 16
Summary

Ontario wetlands include a complex array of marshes, swamps, bogs, and fens. Across the province, regional differences in abundance and characteristics within the four types are readily apparent, particularly along a north-south axis. There is an abundance of wetlands in the central and northern areas due to physiography, climate, and, to a certain degree, lack of development pressures.
