Volume 9, Issue 2, Page 2
Summary

Wetlands are diverse ecosystems with a principal common denominator—they are “wet” all or much of the time due to tidal action, surface runoff, or groundwater. Wetland soils and vegetation are determined by the depth of this water, its velocity, its periodicity and the length of inundation or saturation, its salinity, and the presence of dissolved or suspended substances.
