Wetlands: A Strategic National Resource

Wetlands Research, Inc., a not-for-profit corporation and affiliate of the Open Lands Project, is undertaking an ambitious wetlands restoration project along the Des Plaines River in Illinois. The immediate goal of the Des Plaines River Wetlands Demonstration Project is to rehabilitate a 2.8 mile stretch of the river and 450 acres of attendant floodplains.
