The Environmental Law Institute (ELI) is delighted to announce a new member of its Leadership Council: Davina Pujari. “ELI is so pleased to have Davina join the ranks of our Leadership Council,” said ELI Leadership Council President Kathy Robb. “The members of our Council represent leading thought-leaders in the environmental field. As the Institute continues to grow, these important voices from across the country will help strengthen our vision of a healthy environment, prosperous economies, and vibrant communities founded on the rule of law. We are lucky to add such an esteemed new member to our Leadership Council and look forward to the guidance and expertise Davina is sure to bring to our organization.” Davina is a Partner with Hanson Bridgett, where she serves as co-chair of the firm’s Environmental & Natural Resources practice group in San Francisco. She is an experienced trial attorney who has practiced environmental and criminal law for more than twenty years, handling complex matters in federal and state court. She specializes in the defense of environmental and white collar crimes, internal investigations, and environmental and civil litigation. Davina is also an expert in regulatory and administrative forums, defending companies in civil enforcement actions brought by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and state regulatory agencies. Davina is a former prosecutor and brings a deep understanding of governmental priorities and procedures to her practice. As a Senior Assistant District Attorney with the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office, she investigated and prosecuted environmental and white collar cases involving the illegal disposal of hazardous waste, water pollution, false statements and reports, and obstruction of justice. As an Assistant United States Attorney in the Northern District of California, Davina investigated and prosecuted environmental cases under the Lacey Act, Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, and other federal statutes. Davina is a Board member of the Lamorinda Soccer Club, and a former Board member of Outward Bound California. The ELI Leadership Council is the Institute’s group for the most prominent environment, energy, and natural resource leaders in the nation. The Council recognizes leaders for their commitment of resources and time to the Institute’s vision of a healthy environment, prosperous economies, and vibrant communities founded on the rule of law. Members participate in events and have a chance to network and engage other leaders in discussions about key environmental law and policy issues.
