(Washington, DC): The Environmental Law Institute is pleased to announce that Ethan G. Shenkman is now a regular columnist for The Environmental Forum, ELI’s award-winning policy journal. Mr. Shenkman’s column will focus on private practice and public policy, an intersection that is increasingly at the center of the environmental stage.
“Ethan joins the magazine’s stable of nine expert columnists covering all of the beats important to environmental protection, including now the contribution of the private bar,” said Stephen R. Dujack, Editor of The Environmental Forum.
Mr. Shenkman, a partner at Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer in Washington, DC, has over 16 years of government experience. He served for seven years as a political appointee in the Obama Administration, most recently as Deputy General Counsel at the US Environmental Protection Agency. Prior to that, he served as Deputy Assistant Attorney General at the US Department of Justice's Environment and Natural Resources Division. He previously served as a career attorney and litigator at DOJ for nine years.
Ethan’s first column, which focuses on the symbiotic relationship between public policy and environmental law, is available for download here. For more on The Environmental Forum, visit https://www.eli.org/the-environmental-forum.
