June 2015
The Environmental Law Institute (ELI) is proud to have Spencer Gall joining us this summer as the inaugural Marten Law Environmental Fellow. Mr. Gall is a rising 3L at the University of Washington School of Law (UWSL), where he is an articles editor for the Washington Law Review. He holds a Bachelors degree from Seattle Pacific University and this past winter quarter clerked in the Environment and Natural Resources Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. With generous support from Marten Law, ELI and UWSL are collaborating to bring talented and dedicated students to DC to work closely with ELI experts. This summer Mr. Gall is working on a variety of issues, from ocean aquaculture to adaptation by bilateral and multilateral institutions.
ELI is equally proud to have Kartik Madiraju joining us this summer as the 2015 Henry L. Diamond B&D Law Clerk. Mr. Madiraju is a rising 2L and a Root-Tilden-Kern Scholar at NYU Law. He is from Montreal, Canada and received his Masters and Bachelors degrees from McGill University. Over the last five years, Mr. Madiraju has worked on various environmental justice and policy reform issues, and in the year preceding law school, he traveled the world as a pro bono negotiation and conflict resolution consultant to various environmental organizations as part of the Insight Collaborative. With generous support from Beveridge & Diamond PC, Mr. Madiraju is working closely with ELI experts on projects ranging from coastal protection in the Caribbean to water offset ordinances for new development across the United States.
