Watershed, Watershed, How Dost Thou Flow?

The objective of the Clean Water Act (CWA) is to restore and maintain the chemical, physical, and biological integrity of our nation’s waters. For those of us old enough to remember the Cuyahoga River catching fire, the reasons for enacting the CWA were obvious. The CWA has been very effective in its mission. We enjoy ready access to fishable, swimmable waters throughout the United States. Many of our iconic images of childhood, leisure time, and revered vacation wonderlands focus on picturesque landscapes replete with rivers, lakes, and wetlands.
