In 1988, George Bush's campaign pledge of no net loss of wetlands had a significant impact on voters in the wetlands community. This year, wetlands issues continue to dominate the environmental spotlight, and how the next president revolves current wetlands debates will have broad ramifications for the health and existence of our nation's remaining wetlands.
